After Dark Games · Welcome to Elderfield
You have a name, a task and an entire town full of doors. Here’s where to start looking.
Character and location guide · References checked September 23, 2026 · Minor location spoilers
Remembering a character’s name is one thing. Remembering which house belongs to them is another. This Welcome to Elderfield character guide puts names beside recognizable landmarks, so you can spend less time checking the same doors.
Use it as a town address book: find the person you need, check their home or usual location, then adjust your search if they’re out. It covers the main residents and several useful townspeople without giving away puzzle answers or their personal storylines.
A home isn’t a guaranteed meeting spot. Residents can move around. The directory gives you a starting point, not a promise that someone will be waiting there at every hour. Special events and your current progress can also matter.
Main residents: where to start
| Character | Home or place to check |
|---|---|
| Alice | Left unit of the western duplex shared with Josh, next to Edwin’s home. |
| Blorph | Sewers behind the Police Station in northeast town. During All Hallow’s Eve, check the Playground instead. |
| Celeste | Northwest Library; also listed inside Greystone Estates. These are search locations, not a separate house address. |
| Edwin | Left of the northwest bus stop. Look for the left-hand unit with the lit porch light. |
| Ellie | Right of the northwest bus stop, in the house with boarded windows. |
| Josh | Right unit of the western duplex shared with Alice, next to Edwin. |
| Molly | The Workshop, reached by heading south from the Farm Path. She and her helpers run the forge. |
| Sam | Greystone Estates in northern town: F1, Apartment 1. |
| Tanner | His cabin, reached through the northern outskirts toward the Old Woods. |

Akira, Adrian and Jeannie: check the floor
For the town Apartment Building, remember the floor labels below. Looking around the entrance won’t help if the person you need is upstairs.
- Adrian: F1.
- Jeannie: F1.
- Akira: F2.
- Pete, the ghost: B1, the basement level.
Keep this building separate from the Greystone Estates address listed for Sam above. “The apartments” is an easy note to make and a frustratingly vague one to follow later.
Floor directory: Destructoid’s labeled town map. Open the map alongside this guide if you prefer a visual reference.
Other neighbors worth remembering
Dave, Amelia and Martin
Dave is your next-door neighbor. Amelia and Martin live in the house described as the Neighbor’s House or Fancy House. Those different labels can make one address sound like two destinations. Community town reference.
Trisha, Brittany, Art and Jenn
Look around the northeastern residential area for Trisha’s house, Brittany’s house, and the home shared by Art and Jenn. Art is the artist; Jenn lives there with him and their cat. If you’re trying to match a name to a building, use the labeled map: T marks Trisha, B marks Brittany, and JA marks Jenn and Art. Neighborhood reference.
Who does what at the farm and ranch?
These names are especially useful when your errand is about buying something or moving your farm forward.
At the Farmhouse
- Farmer Hans: the Farmhouse is his home, and he gives farming tasks.
- Old Man Crawford: check the Farmhouse for farming tools and seeds.
- Chef Elroy: also found at the Farmhouse; he sells recipe books.
At the Ranch
- Klaus: visit his house once the Ranch is open. He handles building materials and ranch structures, with home and Farmhouse upgrades becoming available later.
- Henrietta: runs the Ranch Shop, selling animals, feed, ranch tools and blueprints.
Henrietta missing? Her arrival depends on construction: a Ranch Building needs to be built before she comes to run the shop. Wandering around at a different time won’t solve an unmet unlock.

What to try when someone isn’t there
Before making another lap of town, narrow down the reason you might have missed them:
- Check the address carefully. Confirm the building, floor and door against the directory. For future errands, a note such as “F2” is much more useful than “apartment.”
- Consider the weather and current task. Ellie and Edwin stay home in rain or snow. Some farm visits override normal routines. Check your active task’s directions before relying on an ordinary-day location.
- Try the Saloon in the evening. It’s a useful place to look for socializing townsfolk, but it isn’t a guaranteed gathering of everyone.
- Check whether something needs unlocking. Henrietta is the clearest example above: an absent character doesn’t always mean you arrived at the wrong hour.
Schedule notes: community character schedules. Evening meeting spot: Grindnstrat’s Saloon overview.
Once you find someone, jot down the landmark that helped you recognize their place. An address book built around doors, floors and nearby bus stops is much easier to use than trying to memorize the whole town at once.
This guide uses community location references checked September 23, 2026. It is a practical directory, not a complete hourly schedule or a list of every character. Updates and task progress may affect where someone appears.
